With our inbound MMS feature, you can easily receive MMS messages (images, audio files, video clips or vCard contacts) as an email attachment, directly onto your server or application or in your Messenger Inbox. In order to receive MMS messages you will need an MMS enabled Inbox using one of the three options below.
There are hundreds of uses for receiving MMS from customers, clients or staff, whatever your line of business. For instance MMS messaging is used by insurance companies to accelerate the claims process, retailers to send store photos to head office and web developers to enable their customers to send them live content.
There are 3 ways of receiving MMS messages - all of which also receive SMS messages. It won’t cost you anything to receive individual MMS messages, you just need to make sure you have the right inbound number for you. These 3 options are as follows:
With this option your customers, staff or members send their MMS to a long number and start their message with your chosen keyword. Any MMS directed to this shared number which starts with your specific keyword is passed directly to you. Remember to keep your keyword as simple and memorable as possible to make sure your MMS messages are received.
These can be purchased within Messenger and added immediately. You always have the opportunity to extend your keyword for as long as you need it.
With this option your customers, staff or members simply send their MMS to your dedicated long number. As they don't need to start their message with a keyword, this is slightly easier than option 1 above. As it is your own dedicated number you can set up keywords if you wish and run separate inboxes on one number. This is great for using the same number for various campaigns, promotions and offers.
A dedicated number is also ideal for two-way messaging whether it's SMS or MMS. All MMS inbound numbers are capable of receiving simple text messages.

With this option your customers, staff or members send their MMS to a short code and start their message with your chosen keyword. This is the same as option 1 above but with a more memorable short code number - ideal for rapid responses to advertising and promotions.
Like an SMS short code, an MMS enabled one can be used to generate an opt-in list of mobile numbers while retrieving MMS content. This is a great lead generation tool while adding another dimension.

We can automatically forward the MMS message to a URL, so that your systems can receive the message - this could then be used to create a live feed of your MMS messages onto your website (although we would recommend some validation first).
We can automatically forward all inbound MMS messages to you via email for free. You can have these sent to multiple email addresses and can reply via email and we will send back as a text message.
All mobile numbers, the message sent and date and time of receipt are stored in your private inbox. You can export all this information or send a text to these numbers at a future date.
In addition to the auto-reply, you can also select to send auto-responses after a specific period of time.
When an email address is contained within the text message attached to the MMS message, an email can be sent back for FREE. The email can contain attachments which is great for sending brochures.
You can create free sub keywords and each will have its own inbox and settings. This is perfect running various MMS campaigns with the same main keyword. The MMS message will arrive in the relevant inbox.
Once you have your inbound MMS number, it costs you nothing to receive MMS messages. The text will cost the sender their MMS standard network text charge.
We can automatically reply to a MMS message with a text - this might include more information, a link to your website or just a simple "We'll be in contact" message.
